About Me:
I love to Soar Away . . . interpret that as you might, be it my love of travel or art. I am trapped in a hermeneutic circle. I have pretty varied tastes in everything from music to the activities I enjoy. I'm happy if you want to play computer games, but I also like things like white water rafting and driving (or wishing I was driving) fast cars (ooo... a Lotus Elise!!). I am a disputed point.
I am slightly mischievous. I appreciate playing a good practical joke every now and then and I can appreciate it if somebody plays a good trick on me (although I don't have a very high tolerance for malice... it has to be good, clean fun). My family just took a holiday cruise in the Caribbean. On the drive down to Florida, I got horribly carsick. By midday I couldn't even eat lunch. So my father took pity on me and gave me one of his motion sickness pills. It made me sleepy in the car, so I slept the rest of the journey. The next day I took another and again it put me to sleep in the car and I was fine -- no carsickness! This is miraculous, since I have gotten violently carsick since I was a very small child. When we arrived in Florida I was elated and couldn't extoll the virtues of motion sickness pills enough. "That's great!" my dad replied, "Because I gave you a placebo." And he revealed that he had been giving me vitamins all along. LOL . . . the joke was on me that time!
I attract adventure. I've traveled a lot. I've been stalked by a schizophrenic in Portugal and I once found a dead person in my U-Bahn station in Berlin. I've had a drunk Russian man randomly hand me $200 in cash in an airport and then walk away and I had a cabbie in Amsterdam try to take me back to his apartment instead of going to the art museum I wanted to go to. And that's the SHORT version. My life never ceases to be interesting!
Religion is the single most important thing in my life. I'm becoming more religious over time and I spent my last summer in seminary in Jerusalem. I don't necessarily talk about it much, but it's always on my mind.
